In 2007, American band Linkin Park released their third studio album, Minutes to Midnight, named after the Doomsday Clock—a symbol showing how close the world is to disaster. Twenty years later, that countdown feels even more real.
This 20th anniversary project brings the album’s message into today’s world. It invites longtime fans and new listeners to reflect on where we are now. The red sky design was added to show the growing urgency and remind us that action is needed if we want a future.
Warner Bros. and Warner Music Group own Linkin Park and Minutes
to Midnight. All assets were used only for this student project.
The album cover has gotten a redesign from its original black and white colour scheme to signify how things have changed over the past 20 years.
In addition, billboards will be posted leading up to the release of the album, all following the red sky
motif. A day prior to the release, there will be digital billboards posted in high-traffic areas around the world such as Times Square or Shibuya Crossing with a digital countdown clock similar to the website.

An interactive website will also be live, counting down to the drop of the album. As the countdown draws closer, the video of the sky will turn red and the clock will get bigger, creating a more urgent feeling.

To create a conversation around the album, its themes
and our current world, we will have a time capsule that
will encourage fans to record a ten-second video of themselves speaking about what's on their mind right now.
These videos will be sent to us, and in another twenty years in 2047, will be sent back to fans via email to see
how things have changed.

Leading up to the release of the album, cryptic videos will be posted on social media comparing the world from 2007 to 2027, showing drastic changes
We will also create a compilation of videos from fans who consent to be included in it. It will release in
2047 and be a time capsule of this current time.
